Highly Specific SD Cards

Transcend has just announced the creation of very special SD memory cards. Named Copy Protection SD and micro SD, these new generation memory cards are equipped with a data protection system.

This protection system ensures that stored files cannot be deleted, modified, or copied. The operation of this system is similar to that of a CD Rom, with a partition on which it is only possible to write once. This small revolution makes it possible to avoid any unpleasant surprises of deletion, modification or unauthorized copying of files.

However, an alternative exists. It will be possible to determine the size of this protection partition, and to use the remaining, so-called "unprotected", space of the memory card as a classic memory card, with the usual functions of deletion, modification and copying. These models are currently available in versions from 2GB to 64GB.

Transcend offers a lifetime warranty on its Copy Protection models, warranties generally reduced to 10 years on European soil.

Future of Data Recovery or end of data recovery, the fact remains that these models constitute a nice advance in the ever more efficient world of electronic memory.
