5mm High Hard Drives for 2015
![]() |
Microprocessor and motherboard manufacturer Intel is working with hard drive manufacturers to standardize a new 2.5" disk format for Ultrabooks. The idea is to reduce the size of hard drives by 28%. For miniaturization purposes, the SATA connector on this 5 mm hard drive will be modified, making it incompatible with conventional systems. Intel indicates that this standard will be finalized by the end of the year and hopes for 5 mm hard drives with a capacity of 1 TB in 2015. source: http://www.hardware.fr |
